Hardware Field Technian
Are you experienced Technician who are pro with hardware installation and enjoys driving? Then join our growing technical installation Team of the Lead supplier for B2B vending, POS, coin operated machines in the Chicago area!
We are looking for an experienced installation technician to install, upgrade, and maintain computer hardware for our customers. Your duties will include traveling to customers' place of business, installing electronic equipment, troubleshooting problems with existing equipment, testing connections, providing user instructions to customers, and cleaning up after the job is complete.
Responsibilities:
• Complete deliveries and installations at client locations (small local businesses) in Chicago and surrounding areas areas(50 miles out towards the suburbs).
• Set up, install, and configure hardware
• Hands-on and field-based work with 95% of time spent on route. (Travel reimbursement is provided)
• Install and configure new PC hardware and software on desktops, ATM, amusements devices, laptops, and peripherals such as POSs, printers, external drives, and other related hardware
• Perform basic computer wired and wireless network troubleshooting
• Keep records of deliveries, installations, and any fixes for future reference
• Test new hardware and software
• Provide customers with verbal and written operating instructions for new equipment
• Maintaining equipment
• Cleaning up after the job is complete
• Recording and maintaining stock levels
• Maintaining the work vehicle
• Deliver device, instruct, and visit clients - BE ON CALL
Skills:
• Proven experience as hardware technician or similar role
• Thorough knowledge of computer systems and repairs will be a plus
• Ability to crouch, kneel and work in confined areas for extended periods
• Ability to lift heavy objects
• Excellent communication abilities
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) will be an advantage
• Ability to lift or move around heavy machines/kiosks/devices
• Bilingual in Spanish will put you on top of our list
This position requires to stay on route at least 90% of the time. Candidates must own a car and have valid Driver's License (Company’s vehicle will be used for large equipment installations)
Please note that first 2 weeks of training will be conducted in our office in Chicago and the position also includes occasional visits to our office.
